About our Legal Work Experience Programme.

Our legal work experience programme runs annually from June to the end of August and is open to:

– A level/IB students with a university place due to start

– University students

– Postgraduate students

looking to return to the Isle of Man upon completion of their studies and qualify as a Manx Advocate.

We offer a series of one-week work experience slots that provide an insight into the working life of a lawyer. We aim to provide a positive introduction to work with an organised timetable for the period of the work experience placement. From day one you will be working alongside some of the brightest minds in the Manx legal field, within a collaborative and friendly environment.

You can expect to be exposed to a variety of our practice areas including Banking & Finance, Corporate, Dispute Resolution and Real Estate. You will be given practical, hands-on experience, and relevant exposure to a variety of interesting and challenging tasks which may include legal research, drafting simple legal documents, writing articles, undertaking searches and attending Court.

We look for the best students to join our work experience; we hope that some of these students will become our future trainees.

The standard of applications received is very high and we can only offer a limited number of places each year. We will review applications after the closing date and all applicants will be contacted after we have reviewed applications.
