Our specialist Restructuring and Insolvency team, which draws experience from our leading Banking and Finance, Corporate, Employment, Litigation and Property teams, has been extensively involved in both contentious and non-contentious aspects of the largest and highest profile commercial restructuring and insolvency matters in both the Isle of Man and other jurisdictions.

This includes advising on restructurings effected via schemes of arrangement, debt restructurings (including debt for equity swaps), corporate rescues and insolvencies of financial institutions and corporate debtors.

We work in partnership with the world’s leading insolvency practitioners who are appointed as receivers and liquidators of Isle of Man companies and our expert lawyers take a practical and technical approach to the issues that arise in such situations.

Our dedicated team frequently advises receivers, liquidators, directors and shareholders of companies in financial difficulties on their duties under Isle of Man law. We have particular expertise in working with on-shore law firms and other restructuring and insolvency specialists, to structure and implement recovery and, where necessary enforcement, processes, at times utilising Isle of Man law purpose trusts to hold distressed assets.
