We are are delighted to announce that George Walmsley has been formally called to the Manx Bar having passed his exams on his first attempt in May 2019. He was sworn in as an Isle of Man advocate by the Island’s First Deemster, His Honour Deemster Corlett, at a formal ceremony on 5th November 2020.

George joined Cains in August 2018, having successfully achieved a Distinction in his Legal Practice Course at the BPP University Law School in Liverpool. Prior to that he obtained a First-Class Honours degree in Law and Politics at the University of Lancaster.

George works within Cains’ top tier Corporate and Commercial Department and assists with advising on a broad range of corporate matters including banking and debt finance, mergers and acquisitions, asset finance and property finance.

George commented: “I am absolutely delighted to have been called as a member of the Manx Bar. I am very grateful for the support and guidance I have received from my colleagues at Cains, which has been instrumental in helping me to reach this point in my career. After several years of studying, I am looking forward to my next chapter at Cains as a qualified Advocate.”
