Cains recently acted for Avmax Aircraft Leasing Inc. in connection with the acquisition of an Isle of Man registered Airbus A340 configured to corporate VIP status. Avmax Aircraft Leasing Inc. is a Canadian corporation dedicated to providing aircraft for sale or lease to customers on a timely and cost-effective basis.

Cains’ role as Isle of Man counsel also involved providing advice and assistance in respect of Export Development Canada’s financing of the acquisition of the above aircraft and in relation to the subsequent reregistration of the aircraft to Malta.

The Cains team, comprised of Steven Quayle, Mary-Louise Buxton and Adam Clark, worked closely with Gowling WLG, Canadian counsel to Avmax, and DLA Piper, who advised Export Development Canada, in order to facilitate the successful completion of the transaction.
