New Trainee at Cains

Cains, the Isle of Man based law and professional services group, has further expanded its corporate department capacity with the addition of Matthew Wilkinson, a trainee advocate.

Matthew completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School (attaining Commendations in both courses) after having obtained a BSc (hons) degree in Sports Science with Coaching from Sheffield Hallam University. A familiar face amongst the Isle of Man’s sporting community, Matthew has previously represented the Isle of Man in badminton at the Melbourne (2006) and Delhi (2010) Commonwealth Games.

Matthew commented:

“I am delighted to be embarking on my legal career with Cains and hope to be able to make a positive contribution to the group.”

Richard Vanderplank, Director, commented:

“Matthew joined us in January this year as a paralegal. He distinguished himself in this role and it was an easy decision to offer him a training contract; we were very pleased when he accepted this offer.”
