Further International Recognition For Cains

30th January 2009

Cains, one of the leading Isle of Man law firms, has been shortlisted for another prestigious industry award.  The firm has been nominated for the Offshore Category of the 2009 Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence. The results will be announced in April at a gala dinner to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The Chambers Awards recognise firms in Europe who have shown pre-eminence in their respective practice areas and outstanding service to clients over the last 12 months. Other firms nominated include fellow Isle of Man firm, Dickinson Cruickshank, as well as Bedell Cristin, Carey Olsen, Hassans, Mourant du Feu & Jeune, Ogier and Ozannes.

The nomination follows on from the firm’s successes in the last couple of years which saw Cains named ‘offshore law firm of the year’ at both the British Legal Awards in 2007 and The Lawyer Awards 2008. Also in Asia, where Cains opened a regional office in Singapore last year, Asian Legal Business, the leading Asian legal journal, has featured the firm in their Watchlist of ten firms for 2009.

Andrew Corlett, the Managing Director, welcomed the nomination as a “further endorsement for Cains and the Isle of Man in general. We like many other local businesses have campaigned extensively over the last few years to promote our services to a global audience. Recognition of this nature is always gratefully received and to have two Isle of Man nominations can only serve to enhance the reputation of the jurisdiction as a leading international finance centre.”

Chambers and Partners have been publishing their world-famous guides to the legal profession since 1990. In addition they host major award ceremonies in London and New York to honour the achievements of the world's leading lawyers.
