Cains Sponsor Isle of Man Ladies Team Entry into the European Blackball Association Competitions

Cains have provided sponsorship to the Isle of Man Ladies team, giving the leading pool players an opportunity to fly the flag at the European Blackball Association Competitions.

The five day tournament ran from 16th April to 20th April 2007 in Bridlington, East Yorkshire.  Competing countries were the Isle of Man, England, Scotland, Shetlands, Wales, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar and France.

Alison Cannon, a Cains employee and member of the Isle of Man Ladies Team, has been playing pool since she was 16.  “The Isle of Man team started off on the first day beating the first two countries, Gibraltar and Northern Ireland.  We then played against England and were beaten by 18-15 which is a narrow defeat.  One of the Isle of Man ladies team, Lisa Jones, was able to get into the last 32 in the singles competition.”

The Isle of Man ladies team eventually came a very credible and well earned 6th out of 8 teams.
