New Lawyers Join Cains

28th September 2005

Cains is pleased to announce the recruitment of two additional lawyers to its corporate department.

Stephen Rodd is an English Solicitor and joins Cains from the Kuwait office of the major US firm, Bryan Cave. During his five years with Bryan Cave, Stephen advised clients from Bryan Cave's London, Dubai, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi offices, spending more than four years resident in the Middle East. As a result, he has gained substantial corporate law and international commercial law experience advising multi-national and local trading firm clients across a wide range of industries including banking and finance, defence and aerospace, oil and gas, telecommunications, IT and systems integration and hotel licensing and management. Prior to joining Bryan Cave, Stephen worked as a business and technology consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).

Stephen commented: "I am looking forward to delivering high quality, commercially-orientated legal advice to my new clients and to maintaining the excellent industry reputation of Cains' expanding corporate team. My family and I are delighted to be here on the Island and we are very enthusiastic about becoming involved in all aspects of Manx life."

Tristan Head is an English Solicitor and Isle of Man Advocate and has joined Cains from Dickinson Cruickshank & Co where he was a senior associate. Before moving to the Isle of Man in 2003, Tristan was an associate in the corporate department of the leading City firm, Denton Wilde Sapte. His extensive experience includes advising international and Island based clients on AIM listings, mutual funds, e-commerce and e-gaming matters. Outside work, Tristan enjoys playing hockey with an Island based team and he plans to marry his Manx girlfriend next year.

Tristan commented “I believe that these are very exciting times for Cains and the Island. I am delighted to be joining the firm’s expanding corporate department and am looking forward to involvement in the high quality international transactional work that is undertaken here.”

Richard Vanderplank, director of Cains, commented: “These additional appointments signify our continued commitment to provide specialist legal services to our clients. Stephen and Tristan have significant legal experience which will enhance our skill base in a number of areas and enable us to continue to provide up to date expert advice on all aspects of corporate and commercial work to our clients, both on and off the Island.”
