Taxation

A favourable climate for offshore investors has been created by the absence of any exchange control restrictions, together with tax exemptions and concessions for certain types of companies. The Isle of Man moved to a zero rate of tax for the vast majority of companies in 2006. The Manx Government does not levy capital gains tax, inheritance tax or wealth tax.

The introduction of new investment and taxation vehicles is designed to maintain the Isle of Man's status as one of the premier international financial centres.
