Cains, the Isle of Man based law and professional services group, has been recommended by The Legal 500 as a first tier firm in all of its core practice areas which are covered by the survey.
The Legal 500 UK 2012, published this month, praised Cains for its expertise and depth of knowledge across Isle of Man law and comparative UK law, as well as its professionalism, experience and quality of service in banking and finance, commercial, commercial property, dispute resolution, insurance and pensions, and investment funds and capital markets.
Andrew Corlett, Managing Director of Cains, said: “We are very proud of the success we have achieved this year, which is recognised in our top tier rating across those of our core practice areas which are included in the Legal 500.
“The award is confirmation of the superb job our people are doing in what remains a fast changing market.”
Cains’ insurance and pensions practice was praised for its “excellent knowledge of Isle of Man pension schemes and legislation, and equivalent UK legislation”, while its dispute resolution practice was commended for its speed of action, with the team praised for its “high levels of professionalism”. The commercial practice was noted for its “deep knowledge of Isle of Man law and professionalism”, citing Cains’ role as Isle of Man legal adviser to Lamprell in respect of its $336.1m offer for Maritime Industrial Services, its $225.1m rights issue, and a new $305m facilities agreement. Cains was the only firm to appear in the first tier of the commercial property practice area.
